Performance Division Vacancies

  • The post holder will be a dynamic and inspirational classical ballet teacher who is able to engage students in a love of learning. The post would suit professionally trained, experienced qualified teachers with professional performance experience and who want to work in a vibrant and engaging environment. The post holder should be a confident and able to deliver classical ballet technique to the highest standard. It would be preferable for the post holder to have knowledge of the RAD syllabus.


    GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    To develop and improve the quality of education in the dance department through the promotion of the highest possible standards of education and training, equality of opportunity, innovative practice, and the development of an environment which is conducive to excellence in learning and teaching, leading to outstanding outcomes.

    REPORTS TO:

    Director of Dance.


    MAIN DUTIES

    • An inspiring and encouraging teacher who gives and earns respect of pupils, students and colleagues in equal measure.

    • Demonstrate and expect from students high standards of classical ballet technique and musicality.

    • To set high expectations which inspire, motivate and challenge students.

    • To understand the importance of safeguarding young people and to ensure this is at the

    centre of all decisions and actions.

    • To ensure student registers are taken in line with school policy.

    • To continuously reflect upon practice to ensure all students are engaged and absorbed in learning.

    • To promote good progress and outcomes by students.

    • To develop schemes of work and other learning programmes to suit the needs of all students.

    • To ensure spoken and written literacy form part of the planning, delivery, and feedback of lessons.

    • To demonstrate good subject and curriculum knowledge.

    • To keep up-to-date with changes in relation to the subject area and to advise senior leadership when necessary.

    • To plan and teach well-structured lessons.

    • To adapt teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of all students.

    • To ensure differentiation, support, and challenge are included in all learning activities.

    • To make accurate and productive use of assessment.

    • To follow the school’s assessment programme and calendar, making sure examination/assessment resources are created, robust, assessed, and reflected upon.

    • To follow the school’s reporting schedule and to feed information to relevant staff and parents when necessary.

    • To follow the school’s policy regarding student data tracking, analysis, and intervention.

    • To support the school’s development plan and the department development plan.

    • To use a variety of assessment and feedback strategies, including peer, self, and teacher assessment, to ensure students act on advice and develop metacognition.

    • To manage behaviour effectively to ensure a good and safe learning environment.

    • To liaise with pastoral and other leaders to ensure behaviour for learning systems are consistent and effective, and to attend pastoral meetings when necessary.

    • To fulfil wider professional responsibilities.

    • To engage in the school’s performance review process and to be proactive in one’s own professional development.

    • To attend and participate in regular meetings to support the school and department’s development plans.

    • To liaise with other teaching and non-teaching staff to help support the development of students.

    • To undertake cover for absent staff when necessary, this may include year groups other than those specified above.

    • Choreography as required.

    • To attend and participate in assemblies, briefings, INSET days, Open Days/ Evenings, Carol Service, and other school events.

    • To be professional at all times and to support the ethos, vision, and values of the school.

    • To undertake other reasonable duties as directed by the Principal.

    1. Recruitment

    HR Officer (Temporary Maternity cover) Director of Operations

    £25,219 (pro rata, per annum)

    1.1 to prepare advertisements and job details for new staff appointments.

    1.2 to ensure line managers have submitted relevant Job Descriptions for the role.

    1.3 to upload advertisements on the Hammond website or other websites.

    1.4 to ensure that recruitment pages on the Hammond website are up to date and accurate. 1.5 to develop and maintain partnerships to support recruitment with colleges, universities, newspapers, journals, websites and recruitment agencies.

    1.6 to develop and maintain recruitment templates for line managers to complete.

    1.7 to track applications and prepare candidate summary sheets for interviews.

    1.8 to arrange candidate interviews and oversee the interview process.

    1.9 to ensure references are obtained and checked and any concerns highlighted.

    1.10 to draft and send offer letters and manage any variations to contract.

  • The Caretaker is responsible, together with the estates team, for the opening up, closing down, security, general maintenance and upkeep of the Hammond Estate to ensure that the Hammond has the most suitable working environment for its pupils, students and staff and their activities.

    MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

    The job holder is part of a small team reporting to, and working closely with, the Facilities Manager. The Caretaker will be responsible for key holding, and securing grounds and buildings, setting up and breaking down areas, security, general maintenance, new works and other varied roles required of the estates management team within a performing arts, academic and boarding environment.
